Campaigning for better policy
Our team of policy coordinators campaign around the country for the changes to national and local policy that will end homelessness and transform children’s lives.
We want everyone, from the Government centrally to front-line services on the ground to adopt the policies and practice that bring long-term, lasting improvements. The team are taking proven solutions – including those from our own projects – to everyone who has the power to make a difference.
To date, we have:
- worked closely with Government departments to produce reports on how temporary accommodation, overcrowding and poor quality accommodation affect the wellbeing of children.
- used our experience of working with homeless families to provide recommendations on Government policies.
- conducted a survey of local authorities on integrating housing and children’s services within local government.
- worked with the Child Poverty Action Group to produce materials and to influence the child poverty agenda.
