Kevin’s story

When his parents separated, Kevin became homeless because he chose to move out with his father. The council refused to provide accommodation on the basis that Kevin could live with his mother.

With nowhere to stay, Kevin and his father were forced to sleep on friends’ floors.

Our solicitors first saw Kevin and his father a few days before they were due to be made homeless.

We wrote to the council threatening judicial review proceedings, and the council agreed to house them shortly before the deadline for legal action.

Homeless children are three times more likely to be anxious and depressed.
